Backbencher Pub and Cafe in Molesworth Street, Thorndon, takes its name from its location close to the Beehive and Government buildings and it's political satire-themed decor reflects its special location.
The Backbencher Pub and Cafe carries an extensive range of local and imported beers and wines. It is open from brunch through to dinner and has a voting-themed "Ballott" bar menu made up of pub grub and sharing and tasting plates, an All Day Menu and a Friday night menu. There is also an on-premises bottleshop "Cellarvate" staffed by trained and knowledgeable staff, plus a cafe.
The Backbenher is open from 11:00am until late, seven days.
The venue is available for private functions and can cater for up to 300 people.
