OUR HISTORY
Our church began with a vision for the west side of Hamilton. We believe that not everyone in Hamilton is acquainted with the God of the Bible, and we believe that there is always room for a ministry that will lift up the name of Jesus Christ and the Word of God as authoritative and profitable - our perfect benchmark of faith and practice.
The first meeting of Good News Baptist Church was held on
2 July 2000 with over forty people in attendance at the Frankton Primary School.
After eighteen months at that location a more central venue was sought. We relocated to Hamilton West School in December 2001.
Our founding pastor was unexpectedly called home to heaven, and in July 2006 we unanimously called Pastor Scott Silsbee to assume leadership as our pastor-teacher.
Our church people have grown both spiritually and numerically. We are excited to see lives changing as a result of the Word of God at work in our midst. We invite you to come and grow with us.
