14th May 2009 Well, i decided to take my girlfriend out for tea cos it were raining and she was whinging about me never taking her out. I thought 'bloody hell, where will i find a place to please her?' so i typed in 'indian waitakere' to the old google and what came up? Only Mantra. So i looked at the pictures and showed them to the ball and chain and she seemed sort of happy so i ran with that and ended up booking a table. The sign on the outside weren't much to gander at and i thought 'this is a scam' but then i pushed on through to the other side and was welcomed with the sound of gay laughter and i thought 'now this is where i can sit and eat some tucker!'. The service was something not to be taken with half a ducks breath - these people really cared about me and the old girl. We were sat right next to one of them indian water fountains/shrines and I thought 'if only me mam could see me now' - it were a nice way to pass the time, listening to the chatter and trickles of water and sometimes i'd even throw in a laugh or two at me lady's jokes. We ordered a starter to share and it were good and got the juices flowing. Then i had me favourite butter chicken and the mrs had some spicey thing or another and we both got so full i asked her if she might be up the duff after all. We got the rest of our goods packed away in a nice doggy bag for our dog that she keeps whinging at me about buying (I took it for lunch didn't i?). All in all a nice evening out or as nice as you can expect at my age. 3 and 1/2 well earnt stars. Barry from Sunnyvale.

27th April 2009 A delightful experience! This boutiquey restaurant offers the best Indian food I have eaten in Auckland - with excellent service and great music. I dined there with a friend on a Saturday evening. Though the restaurant was nearly full, we were attended to almost immediately and then, as and when required. I ordered the Dhaba Chicken curry and my friend ordered the Goat curry. Both were exquisite - and according to my Indian friend, very authentic! We also ordered dessert - gulab jamun, a lovely Indian dessert; and R18 - a mix of ice cream, baileys and kahlua. We enjoyed both desserts immensely. Overall, a wonderful experience. We will be going there again soon.
