18th June 2010 Our group visited Gilead Alpacas last summer and had a wonderful time. The ladies had cria (babies) in a pen for us to pat, told us anything and everything about the alpacas and their care and had young males haltered up for our group to take for walks (which was the highlight). We saw raw fleeces, learnt about shearing and went away feeling it was such an informative visit, taking with us a postcard of one of their babies.
We'd love to go back.
50 alpacas on 10 1/2 acres of flat, picturesque land. Breeding females for sale, some with current cria-at-foot. Young males for sale as pets. Stud services from several resident herd sires, different blood lines, different colurs. Also visiting 'top of the range' males from Silverstream Alpacas in Christchurch. We can bring males to you so your female doesn't have to leave home.
We love to have visitors, so phone given number during the weekdays or 324-7114 evenings to arrange a group or family visit - for a tactile, informative, fun time.
We give interactive talks to groups and have fleeces, carded fibre and balls of "wool" to knit up, plus garments, scarves, hats and other items for sale through our shop in Feilding - Wool Criations.
Our animal's health and welfare is our prime concern and we give complete follow-up service to new purchasers for as long as requested.
