The Quarry Arts Centre provides a place where the public can come to experience a unique atmoshphere with unique earth built buildings, waterfall, coffee shop, art galleries, art/craft shop, art supplies (30 % membership discounts), clay supplies and glazes, with the only selection of clay available for purchase north of Auckland. We have artist studios available for rent, either daytime or accommodation.
Other residents are Te Kowhai Print Trust, Woodturners and woodworkers club rooms, and Earth Building Association of New Zealand.
We hold regular art workshops ranging from clay workshops, painting workshops, to sculpture workshops. Come down and experience something new!

Once you have found this place you will never look back. Not only has it fantastic staff it also breams with amazing artist in every nook and cranny. Surrounded by magical landscape it is truly a retreat not only for artists but also for nature lover , explorers and the adventurers of this world. Being only a five minute walk from our town center it should be on top of everyones ' places to visit ' list.
Why not take a picnic there during your lunch hour or just sit by the waterfall and enjoy the peace and quiet or the wonderful creations scattered around everywhere ?
I can't think of a better place to do my Christmas shopping. No parking problems or grumpy or pushy shop assistants there and my purchases will all be unique and 100% NZ made !
