We booked online and stayed here in May09. My wife has had many years of B&B ownership and experience and, being of the older generation, we tend to choose fairly carefully nowadays and have had many good, and many not-so-good experiences.
The owners of Blackhouse are new to this game and have done a marvelous job. You would be hard-pressed to fault the accommodation, and the service was superb, and all at a very reasonable rate. With all B&B's the little touches are the ones that count and they were many and varied, but made our stay memorable. Simple things like the breakfast being on time, beautifully cooked and on hot plates. The bed extremely comfortable, the fresh flowers and the little chocolates, the magazines and books., every convenience and all in a separate villa a few paces away from the main house.
We can truly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting the best, and all way less than an hour from Christchurch.

Boutique Vineyard and modern B&B accomodation

Set on ten acres, within a 2.5 acre developing vineyard, our B&B experience allows our guests complete privacy.

The beautifully appointed and architecturally aspiring unit is separate from the main house and completely self contained. Facilities include; a large bedroom with queen sized bed, private lounge with kitchenette (gas hob, fridge & microwave) and a private bathroom with a toilet and shower. Children are welcome, and we have a single stretcher bed, porta-cot and high chair available. Accompanying children are charged $10 per night. We also have a washing machine for guest use (complimentary) and a gas BBQ is available through the summer.
