Based in Wellington, Murray Lloyd has traveled extensively throughout New Zealand and overseas using a documentary style to record weddings and events.
Food photography is a specialty with images appearing in various publications including Cuisine, The Dominion Post and Ruth Pretty Catering. His first major publication was the bestselling Ruth Pretty Cookbook in 2002. He has also provided photographs for the book 'A Consuming Passion' by Zibbibo Restaurant, and images for the books 'Vegetarian' and 'Seafood' both published by Fairfax. His most recent book has been another Ruth Pretty publication,published in 2008, 'Ruth Pretty Entertains'.
A recipient of NZIPP awards, including winning the Editorial/Corporate award in 2004, Murray's work also features in exhibitions, including the Photoforum website exhibition of contemporary New Zealand photography and The Caravan, which toured the country during 2003. His latest exhibition 'Scenes in Maoriland' opens in October 2009 at the McNamara Gallery in Wanganui.
