1st September 2009 I visited the Cafe on Friday 28th August 2009 - due to a friends request - i found the owner (Ruth) to be very friendly and she advised us to try the freshly Baked items that day.... The scones are definitely a ''Must'' she bakes them herself each day and we found them to be very light in texture and although we asked for the Recipe (for my wife to try at home) she would not give us the ingredients - as they are apparently a Family Secret passed on from her Grandmother and it is over ''ONE HUNDRED YEARS OLD''.... but she definitely has an edge over any other Scone i have tried at ''ANY' other Cafe here in New Zealand - if she would bake them and send them direct to us In Dunedin..... i would buy them in the ''''''Boat Load'''''' come on Ruth let us know THE RECIPE............. i think she has a market open to her.....and i hope she utilises it.

30th April 2009 The food is delicious... i had a Homebaked Savoury Scone with Feta & Sundried Tomato and my Husband had the Bacon & Egg Toasted Sandwich, the scone was made to an Old English Recipe as the owner is English and she informed us that her Great Grandmother passed on the recipe - it was probably the ''Best Scone'' i have tasted in any Cafe here in new Zealand, my husband said his Bacon was nice and crispy with a good flavour and it was great to see they use Free Range Eggs. The Coffee is a 'Coffee Drinkers Dream' it had a good strong flavour without being bitter - absolutely worth a visit....
