I disagree with the previous review, I eat here regularly and believe they do the best fish and chips on the Kapiti Coast. The current owner was at another Fish and CHip shop and when he left there I stopped going. When I tracked him down at Mac's I was relieved as I had not had a decent feed of Fish and Chips for months. In fact I am just about to tuck in to some for lunch now!!.

Last evening Saturday 6th February this place was busy and I ended up waiting fifty minutes for a simple order of 6 mussels, 1 fish and 3 scoops of chips. In the end I had to remind the staff to give me the order I'd paid for. When I got it home five minutes later, we had to re-heat the chips. No apology or explanation was given.

this shop has gone down hill since it has changed hand, for example Chips are not cooked properly. there are no burgers no real squid rings even tho they are advertising them on the menu and no real pineapple rings made with fresh pineapple and where is the cinnamon sugar on the pineapple rings. These items are must if you want to keep your customers. the mussels we had had no batter on them. simone freeman and family
