27th January 2012 Although I ate at Lone Star when it first opened and enjoyed my meal,
I now have to add my review to (I'm afraid) a growing list of dissatisfied customers. I wanted to hold my 65th birthday party at Lone Sta on 30th January - I'm a member there and they'd sent me a birthday voucher.
I filled in the form online for 8 persons, about 12 days before the event. Time passed and they did not contact me and by this time the guest list had run to 14. I left a message on their answerphone. .
I'm writing this on 27th January and there has been absolutely no response from Lone Star at all. Obviously they can do without my business.
When I sent out e-mails to the guests telling them that I had booked elsewhere, no less than 5 people of the 14 wrote back to say 'thank goodness, that place has no idea of good service.' Unfortunately I have to agree. I can't even give them a lone star in the above review, this is no way to run a business.

22nd September 2011 I have always been a BIG Lone Star fan, and after not visiting for a while I went to the Waitakere Lone Star last Friday night.
With the new road layout and months of roadworks that have been going on in New Lynn I thought it would not be busy - boy was I wrong about that!
By about 7-8pm the tables were mostly full.
The food was good as always, the service was friendly and my partner's steak was cooked to perfection. I would have liked to see more of a sauce or relish with my meal of Honky Tonk Chicken but all in all the food was good.
The prices are slightly on the higher side, especially if dining with a large group and the restaurant was too noisy for my liking - which I suppose is to be expected on a Friday night with many patrons enjoying after work drinks.
I would return, but proabably on a quieter night so I could enjoy my meal in peace.
