8th April 2013 We thoroughly enjoyed both the food and service when we visited in March. My husband had the seafood chowder which he said was the best he'd ever had. I had the beef cheeks for my main, not something I would normally choose, but gave it a go and was delighted - a gastronomic feast from start to finish, with wonderful service and great atmosphere. I would highly recommend visiting Ma Maison when you're next in Akaroa.
13th July 2013 Two words. Pretty average. The mains we ordered had the same base condiments - potatoes and same sauce, garnished with dill
Entree we ordered was also garnished with dill.
Service was good, staff knew the menu. It's a shame the food is not up to standard.
I ordered the salmon with asparagus. It came with two green beans instead. The reason why I ordered Te salmon was to have some asparagus.. Fish was very oily and over cooked.
Ordered some streamed Veges which were mush! Over cooked! And full of butter. Very very boring.
Would not return again.

10th February 2012 Ma maison has a nice atmosphere with a pleasant view over the beach. The service was good and the presentation of the food was great.
2 of us ordered a vegetarian cannelloni, filled with sauted mushrooms, dukkah roasted pumpkin and feta, with roasted red pepper sauce. It looked great, however we were both dissapointed with the taste. There was so little pumpkin it was barely detectable, which we had both been looking forward to - perhaps because of the recent pumpkin price hike? And the red pepper sauce was quite lacking in flavour.
However, my dining companions had ordered a whitebait omelette and a seafood risotto, which they were both very pleased with.
