We wanted to treat our dear friend to a birthday lunch on Sunday so visited Plume for the first time. The establishment was excellent, the service as good as you will get anywhere and the meal was outstanding. You cannot get better than this.

While Plume's menu essentially reflects local cuisine it also celebrates New Zealand's cultural diversity and new thinking. We like to think our dishes fuse the flavours of global kitchens with New Zealand's own traditional heritage.

Plume-for weddings,birthdays,and any special occassions-this venue would be hard to beat! We had our wedding reception there and want to thank Plume for making our special day so outstanding and a memorable day not only for us,but also for our guests. The decor,layout and table settings were fantastic and gave Plume an exceptionally warm and classic atmosphere.The entree and dessert consisted of a taste of a number of different delicacies-our guests had a lovely time working out what morsel corresponded to the name on the menu.Not only did they taste great,there was plenty to eat,they were a great source of conversation and a work of art.Our guests are still talking about it-even our 'foodie'experts."This meal rivalled anything found in greater Auckland. The staff were outstanding and attentive to all our guests but not intrusive.They were very accommodating to our wishes and truly made it "our day".Our reception was worth every cent and we are happy to recommend Plume as a great venue for any special occasion

We have been to Plume many times for lunch and found the food and service fantastic, so much so we decided to have our wedding reception there. Farida and the staff were great. We couldn't have asked more from the venue. There attention to detail couldn't be faulted. They really made our special day something to remember. All our guests even commented on what great service they gave and what great quality the food was. They all said they would be back for another meal. Farida gave us the best advice for our wedding reception and saved us money as we were on a tight budget. She was also great with the 12 children we had attend ... I think some of them disappeared with her on little adventures to the kitchen. We now consider Farida a friend and we will be back to Plume again soon to visit and say "Hi" with the new addition to our family.

Recently my friends had a surprise party for my birthday and the biggest surprise was it was held in this restaurant "Plume" that is definitely worth visiting and experiencing a wonderful lunch or dinner surrounded by beautiful vineyard and landscape. The food, service, the warmth and hospitality of the host Clyde and Farida was exceptional. We had 24 people in our party and I must say the food was on time and everyone got the correct order. I love my red wine and I highly recommend the Runner Duck Syrah which I must say I loved so much that we did take home a couple of bottles and my daughter loved the grape juice. I had the fish of the day and my hubby had the curry of the day which was authentic with the wonderful blend of spices. Now this is a Dessert to kill for it was THE SPECIAL called Manjia Bevi the Italian chef's specialty it had fresh fruit, dry fruit and nuts, creamy custard sauce, and some sponge cake in it, some of my guest had two helpings that is how delicious it was. If you are looking for a special day or night out I would highly recommend the Plume. Will definitely go back any day.

There's a new bird in town called Plume... Well they are saying Plume, the vineyard restaurant, is the place to go in Matakana and we can see why. New owners and a total refurbishment (rumored to be half a million dollars worth) have totally transformed what used to be Heron's Flight Restaurant. So eager were we to try this new restaurant we arrived without a reservation for lunch on the 17th October (bit late on the review, sorry!). Being the first day open to the public this might prove a problem for some eateries... no problem for Plume despite being busy! From the warmth of the interior and service through to the last mouthful of dessert Plume did not disappoint. We would totally recommend the Rillette of Pork and Duck and the Three Cheese Souffle all washed down with a bottle of the Runner Duck Estate's Syrah ... perfect. The Churros, followed by some great coffee made for a perfect end to a rather enjoyable lunch, thank you Plume, just brillant! We can't wait to revisit this restuarant as it really was the perfect place to have a bite to eat after a trip to the Matakana Farmers Market. But next time I think we will have to do one of their wine tastings in Plume's Cellar Door... maybe followed by a tasting platter on their deck... yes, that sounds like a delightful way to spend a sunny afternoon.
