The number eight appears a lot in popular culture. First, there was a band called Eight that, ironically enough, only had four members. They did have eight arms though. Speaking of limbs, there's also the world's favourite octopus, Paul, who had eight legs and who "died peacefully of natural causes." I hope they got more than just eight squid rings out of that puppy.

With 16 American-style pool tables, a full-sized snooker table, fully-licensed bar, private poker room for hire, and a seven-foot robot, The Slate Room is a great place to start or end your night - or hang out for the whole evening. With mean sounds, an electric atmosphere and excellent DJs, you'll find you're having such a good time you won't want to go anywhere else!

Obviously it would help if you could actually play pool. If you can't play to save yourself, just sit back, watch and learn from the best in Auckland, as they go up against each other in semi-friendly competition.

You'll find The Slate Room at 109 Hobson Street, just across the road from Sky City Casino, and we're open seven days a week from 2pm right through until sparrow's fart. 4am, to be exact. If you're looking for a great night of pool with a difference, don't look past The Slate Room. The game really has changed.
