Years of hands-on experience in the IT industry convinced Origin IT founders Michael Russell, and Karl and Alishia Gaines, that there had to be a better way. They wanted to make IT easy for New Zealand businesses.

All-too-often, they saw clients frustrated by the red tape of the large IT companies, or let down by the limiting lack of resources provided by one-man bands. Moreover, the three partners sought an environment where they "could develop passion, pride and personality" - those things that make a business special.

In May 2000, they took the bold step of creating and establishing their own IT service and support business - with the clear goal of allowing their clients the best of both worlds.

The Directors' vision was a medium-sized IT solutions provider with the muscle to meet all the needs of medium-sized New Zealand firms, the buying power to be competitive in the company sector, and the ~human touch' of smaller business.

They set out to create a company with a 'can-do' culture - a business geared to meet it's clients IT requirements by being professional, proactive, accessible, flexible, competitive and passionate.
