Meet hip vibrant staff, listen to great music, read a fringy mag or catch up with friends and enjoy fantastic coffee and food in an understated "garage" environment.
Joe's Garage started out in downtown Queenstown, New Zealand located in the old Post Office sorting room come Garage in 2000. Situated in New Zealand's premier alpine resort on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and surrounded by the majestic Southern Alps, Joe's Garage's mission is simple; a place that everybody can go to and have fun.
Joe's Garage are delighted to welcome another caf to the family, this time located in the rich and fertile agricultural city of Palmerston North. We are situated , ironically enough, at 38 Princess Street, in the building that in a previous life housed Pikes Motors - a garage and repairs workshop which dates back to the 1930's. Owners Craig Smith and Tracey Burgess-Smith invite you to visit their brand new caf, and to make Joe's part of your daily Coffee Rescue ritual.

The Joe's menu has been designed around the GO FAST philosophy of serving a great tasting meal without the wait, it includes simple kiwi classics and has something to cater to all tastes and needs. With exceptional coffee and quick, clean & tasty food, Joe's Garage became an overnight hit with locals.
16th September 2013 Most of the staff were very friendly, the food was good the let down for us was the coffee. It was not made well, it tasted burnt when i tried to complain the older lady behind the counter with brown/blonde hair told me that i would have to order something else because this was how they all came.
I have been in hospitality for many years including as a barista and i know when a coffee has not been made well.
I have been to the Joe's garage in Wellington and the coffee was amazing, the one we had in Palmy was a let down.
I was not impressed with her response to my complaint and my friends and i definitely will not be coming back or recommending this place to any one.

6th March 2012 Prices are on the high side compared with other Cafes in town, and the serving sizes are small, especially considering the price. The coffee is not made well but not the worst I've had. Staff were friendly, the only saving grace
