Beware of buying from this company! I have had successful transactions with Pro 1 Digital in the past, but now I have not received an expensive lens 11 weeks after being ordered and paid for. 5 March 2015 I paid $ 1,680.00 via Paypal for a Sony FE 16-35mm f4 ZA lens, based on price and in-stock listing on PriceSpy. 23 March 2015 my enquiries about delivery stating were answered, "sorry for the delay this will reach you end of next week". The lens did not arrive. After several emails in April asking about delivery, on 1 May 2015 a reply stated, "hello sorry for the delay we are catching up orders and

The real rating should be - 5 (minus 5!!! or more) as they're trading under false pretence. Please read carefully from all of the less than 1 star reviews as they are real reviews from real people who purchased from this company. They don't really exist in New Zealand, they don't have a physical address that you can contact. They just have a mobile number that no one has ever answered the calls! I was in a hurry to get a new camera to complete my new project so I made the order with them without thoroughly checking the website, ratings or real physical contact's details. But some how I was lucky that I used Paypal to pay for my order. I opened a dispute through Paypal three days after I ordered and didn't get what I had ordered. I informed them of my action and I got the full refund notice from Paypal as well as a more communicative reply from them (which I never got any helpful reply from them before that)! Please buy on-line from your trusted New Zealand companies only! If you have to buy stuffs from overseas, please only buy from e-bay, amazon, aliexpress, or other reputable sellers only!

Unfortunately I experienced the same sort of trouble as the previous reviewers. I ordered a Fuji camera from Pro1digital because I was attracted by the availability of the good (advertised : in stock with 2 or 3 days shipping), and the company offered a 3 years "genuine warranty" from Fuji, for $100. I ordered the camera on 20 December 2014 and received it one month later, the 20th of January. In the meantime I sent a few Emails to Pro1digital. Their answers each time showed their attempt to play for time. Actually, the camera had been sent directly from Hong Kong. Pro1 digital terms and conditions are all written to lead you to think that it is a true NZ company, owned in and operated from NZ, but they even don't respect the NZ regulations. On the shipping slip, there was a false customs declaration : "gift" was ticked and not "merchandise" as it should have been, confirming it is a dishonest trade. In the parcel no document testifying that the warranty was 3 years, no words specifying the extent of this warranty. I asked Pro1digital to reimburse it ($100) so they did probably because I was quite threatening (of getting in touch with nz authorities). Not long after I discovered that the true "genuine" Fuji warranty was automatically given for free with cameras bought in NZ which I thought I had done. BE VERY CAUTIOUS, as I noticed too late, only FINDA gets so many bad reviews on this shop. I found very few negative ones on other websites in the middle of dozens of positive feedbacks (excellent... perfect!), not sure they are all sent by genuine customers!.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMPANY. At best they can deliver an item imported under a false declaration of value from China at a good price. Or like me you could receive nothing for over a month, after ordering something that was supposedly in stock with no indication that it was not being sold from within NZ. No one answers the phone number given. Repeat email demands to know what was going on received stock replies about delivery delayed by order back ups. Now I have a received a notice from NZ Customs requiring me to clear the Lens I bought 31 days ago, arriving from Hong Kong and declared at 20% of my purchase price. (This website appears to be the only one showing a full range of reviews: I hadn't read it until today!)

There are definitely some dodgy business practices going on here, with the profitability of the business being reliant on untruthfully declaring things to customs and not always getting caught (My headphones were declared as a 'Gift' rather than 'Merchandise'). At the end of the day I did get what I paid for and the price was agreeable, but I am not sure this is something you can rely on, because if customs discover the deception then your goods will be delayed and/or the infringement costs will become your responsibility.

Purchased a Sandisk 32gb Extreme Micro card thru this website on the 6th Jan 2014 and received an order confirmation straight away. Heard nothing by 14th Jan 2014 and emailed them with a fairly strong email after having found and seen a lot of negative feedback. They responded within 12hrs and I did actually receive the goods by the 15th Jan 2014. Goods where EX- Hong Kong which annoyed me somewhat, as this was not clear on there web site, The Sandisk 32 gb Extreme card appears to be in genuine packaging and so far performs well. I will probably get another card thru them as I need another one and they where around $100 cheaper

Don't believe the spiel about trademe feedback or being reputable, do your own research (like I should have done) and avoid being burned. I ordered a tripod and head from Pro1Digital's online store as a birthday present for my partner over a month before the date. They immediately took the full amount from my credit card (just under $1000) and marked order as complete. Then no goods or communication for three weeks, despite the 14 day maximum delivery time. After ignoring a number of emails, the phone number ringing out and then repeatedly being hung up, I finally get a one line email 'sorry, will be there next week'. That was now two weeks ago, still no delivery and no further communication. So it is now five weeks since I placed the order, five weeks since I paid in full, three weeks since the delivery deadline passed, one week after the birthday for which this item was ordered and all I've received is stress and unprofessionalism. This isn't a one off case of the ball being dropped, Internet searches show dozens other other people who have had similar experiences. You will be dealing with a mobile phone, gmail address, PO box and a business that doesn't even pretend to care once they've grabbed your money. I don't think I've ever given such a poor review before and as a business owner myself always try to make allowances as genuine mistakes do happen, but this is truly deserved.

I have received absolutely terrible service from this company. It has taken over a month to receive a camera which we were told was 'in stock'. We have still not received it. It is now held at customs as it was declared as 'toys and book' with a $200 value. They take forever to contact you although do eventually contact you back. Buyer beware - do not go through this company.

the mrs is very happy to receive her birthday gift in time, I found pro 1 digital very knowledgeable in photography in that they recommended me (well for my wife really) the optional gears that she needs and don't need, high recommended, items bought were panasonic gf5, 14-42mm lens, 45-175mm lens, filters, extra battery, screen protector, 16gb memory card and a very nice nat geo bag

It was a surprise to me that my order was addressed directly to me from Hong Kong rather than coming to me from Pro 1 Digital's own shelves in NZ, making me liable for the Customs/GST cost. But Pro 1 Digital reimbursed me for that cost very promptly. Their price for the (rather expensive) lens was the cheapest I could find in NZ, and they also gave me good advice regarding one item that I ordered (I had ordered the wrong model for my camera and they picked that up and corrected me). So I would buy from them again. They would have got 5 stars expect for the unexpected direct mailing from Hong Kong thing, but even that worked out OK.

I and many others have suffered this experience, my camera was imported with a false customs, from Hong Kong as a 'toy' and 'gift' to dodge import tax. He says "all items are in stock", sure but in Hong Kong. Your goods arrive usually blocked by NZ Customs because of the false import declaration. Also they keep posting false positive feedback on Pricespy, you can tell because they are all 100% ratings and he uses the same bad English phrases such as 'camera gears', he's been up to the same tricks for years now. STEER CLEAR!!!

review part 1: if there was a negative rating i would have given it -10 for sure. same experience as previous reviews, order a camera and then was told the delivery date is 12 days, item was $10-$20 cheaper compared to other retail stores but products of pro 1 digital are all parallel imports, which means they dont really have any stocks in NZ, if somethings have gone wrong with you purchase then good luck with the back and forth.

UPDATING MY REVIEW: WARNING! SELLER CANNOT BE TRUSTED. ON 13/06/2012 I PAID $3980 FOR A CAMERA AND LENS AND NOTHING EVER ARRIVED. When the camera didn't arrive by the time expected, I sent daily emails to "Roy Li" (who runs the company) inquiring what has happened, I did not however get a reply until after a week, when I threatened to go to the police. He then replied with a series of lies as to why I hadn't received anything. My most recent email from Roy states: "due to our own problems, can we refund you? we will refund you in full but sorry have to be in bits" I replied to this email saying he had 24 hours to refund me in full and if he failed to comply I would go to the police. He has not refunded anything nor replied to my email and a police investigation is under way.

John, same experience here only worse. I was clearly told all advertised products were in stock, with 4 day delivery. After a week I asked to cancel the order, Roy at Pro1digital told me there packer was in a car accident, hence the delay. Received 11 days later direct from a Hong Kong address! Also gave a false customs declaration which has been reported to Customs. BEWARE!!!

I ordered a Camera from this company htat they said was in stock. I ordered and paid for it on line on a saturday. By tuesday I still had not recieved the camera. They had no business address or phone number to contact them. I e-mailed them and asked them to call me. I recieved an e-mail that said the camera had been shipped....but no camera came, and I never got a phone call. I e-mailed the company and canceled the order because I could not talk to them and I did not recieve the camera. I doubt they had it in stock. II recieved an e-mail back saying the would charge a 10% restocking fee (for a camera that I had not recieved) I told them this was not acceptable, I should not be penalized because they failed to ship the camera promptly and refused to call me or give me a business address or phone number. I would not recommend doing business with this company and I will never do business with them again.
