19th April 2013 Came in on a Tuesday night. I wanted to order a Margarita however I wanted it with Patron not Jose Cuervo. I was told that I could choose to go for their "make your own margarita" option but only if I picked a Tequila over $15 per shot. Patron is $13 per shot so I was not allowed to have a Margarita with Patron (seems strange to ban a customer from doing this). You can purchase a glass or a carafe. I chose a carafe and two glasses. The waitress came and told us that as we had chosen the "make your own margarita" option we would be charged $30. The tiny carafe came with three glasses (we had asked for two), It was not frozen as requested, we were given tiny tumblers instead of margarita glasses. The contents did not even give you two glasses of margarita (and most of that was ice).
The food was very bland and tasteless and just pretty boring to be honest. When I think of Mexican food I think of spice and exciting flavours and bright colours...this food could not be described in that way. We ordered a few dishes to share as recommended, we were not given any side plates. We ordered as one of our dishes a mushroom dish which did not appear, something else came in its place but I'm not sure what it was.
The tables are crammed in, it's all rows of tables joined together so not very intimate. Despite being very close together, having a conversation is hardly possible due to music levels being far too over the top.
Our table was also not very clean. And at one point I went to the bathroom but had to disturb other customers as the had to get up from their table and move round so I could get out (as I said before the tables are squashed tightly together) and I was trapped in a corner.
On the plus the staff were very friendly indeed, our waitress and the host seemed lovely.
The bill (before tip) came to $89 for 6 small dishes and the margarita.
I would not recommend this restaurant.
