Bought two vouchers off treat me and was expecting to have a really good "cheat" meal. My cheat meal dreams were quite quickly tarnished by the end of the night. If you want microwaved food I recommend this place! I mean raw cucumber, mashed potato and microwaved scallops really sets the mood and then maybe you can wait an hour for mains as well. If you want floury dry corn fritters that fall to pieces as you try to eat them then this is the place for you! Well done "the flames bar & microwave"

when arriving at the flames hamilton we were greeted by a very nervous (apparently the manager) waiter who seated us and poured us a water, after ten mins we had to call him over and ask for menus. We ordered a chicken burger, ribs and a pizza with a entree of wedges. After about ten minutes wait we received our wedges with no side plates, no cutlery and no napkins which i had to then ask for, the napkins they brought over were dirty with spots of sour cream on them. Our mains took way to long to come out and came out at all different times we waited a extra 15 minutes for the pizza after we got the burger and ribs by that time we had already finished our meals and our friend felt awkward making us wait for her to finish a pizza. the two tables next to us also had a big wait on there food and the restaurant wasn't that busy (tuesday night) i found the food mediocre the service appalling and i won't be going back any time soon.

This restaurant is actually great. Came here just walking by and decided to try it and we will be coming back! Great food, had the Waikato Harvest Salad. Very fresh and well presented. Great service. Give it a try.

Come on baby light my... I'd been told so many good things by friends and family about The Flames on 12 Hood Street, I finally gave in to peer pressure and checked it out. Now I'm hooked... On my first visit I tried the Grandfather Burger and there was nothing about this delicious yet unpretentious dish I can fault. The streaky bacon and egg were wonderfully crispy.

Decided to see what the craze was about The Flames the other day, and their Scallops Waves were just what I was looking for! The flavours blended so well with each other, but I found the fishcake to be a bit too pasty for my liking. Nevertheless, I'd definitely come round again for another visit.

Flames Bar & Grill was amazing! The service was excellent and the Waikato Chief pizza was right up there with the best pizza I've ever had. Really nice establishment and I will be returning again soon that's for sure.

I'm quite a big fan of pizza, so when my friends took me here I had some high standards to meet. Absolutely blew me away with your Meat Market pizza. I have some new standards to meet after coming here! I'd highly recommend coming here if you want quality service as well as top notch pizzas. Cheers for a great night with great pizza guys!

Saw the $20 all you can eat rib deal and thought I should check it out. Great food and cheap prices, service though was horrible from the time my partner and I walked in until we left. We had the Manager serve us and didn't feel welcome at all. We were the only ones when we walked in and it took 45 minutes to receive our meals after we were rushed to order.

Always keen to check out new Hamilton eateries for their vegetarian options. Big fan of home style pizzas and the veggie patch didn't disappoint. The vegetables were fresh and the blend of cheeses was mouth-watering. Great friendly staff and large selection of well-priced beers.

Heard about this new addition to the Hamilton scene through a family friend so we thought we'd give it a go - no regrets! We ordered from a selection of their classic wood-fired style pizzas. It is clear they use fresh ingredients in the toppings and mozzarella cheese with a crispy crust always wins. You get what you pay for here - and I agree with the previous reviewer, the staff are lovely

I had The Flames Shank which was accompanied with potato mash and greens. The lamb was juicy and succulent and the dish was presented beautifully. The service was faster than I had anticipated it would be. My waiter seemed to have a sixth sense in relation to my needs. 10/10

I chose this restaurant for date night after hearing outstanding recommendations from my work colleagues. I was very impressed with the quality of the and range of the menu. I decided on the Pork Belly for my main. It was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. The flavours of the sides and sauces complimented the pork belly very nicely and left me wanting more. I recommend anyone who loves pork try this dish.

The Flames is top notch! The customer service was wonderful - I felt right at home. There was so much selection and being vegetarian, I felt that I had a lot to choose from! I'll definitely be back to enjoy something else from the menu. Delicious!
