17th April 2012 "No pool and no playground". The main two reasons why we chose this campground over all the others in the area. Not everyone wants a family friendly holiday destination - many of us prefer peace and quiet, and not only after 10pm! Wish there more campgrounds like this one. The only noise came from the nearby main road, but that's the kind of background noise one can easily block out. The facilities were clean, the kitchen a bit small and you have to take your own cutlery and crockery, and the showers run on 50c coins, but none of this bothered us. We actually loved the pricing system for campervan sites - $24 for one person, $30 for two. Why should you pay double for 2 persons in a van, when you're not taking up double the space? Surely the bit of extra electricity the second person uses doesn't cost $24 per day? We'll certainly be back whenever we find ourselves in the area again!
Tauranga Tourist Park is a small sheltered park situated within Tauranga city. Our park caters mainly for campervans and mobile homes with power/non power sites, cyclist sites and standard one room cabins also available.
