31st July 2011 Tapas are my fave dine out experience and sabroso my by far numero uno in the top half of the north island. Did not try the wine list due to the sweet fruity yummy margaritas. We had the squid, cerviche, and the black bean pastries (were they called sabrosos?). Corn chips and salsa were ok but pretty blah in comparison with the rest of the courses as they were so perfect. Since i was dinng with a sweet freak we also tried a couple of the desserts - the chocolate cup is little but dont be fooled its so decadently deep, dark and delicious it will easily feed 2. We also had some little sweet sliced breads that came with an old fashioned caramel. The service was top notch, our server knew her stuff, pronounced perfectly and i think they were probably her recipes! Even the filter coffee was suoerb! Top marks!

3rd January 2011 Fantastic food and margaritas and the Irish waitress was fantastic! Try the chocolate cup on a dare for a sweet but hot experience and I'd recommend the Brazilian Stew! 5 of us had a great night and not a single thing to say bad against the place! Thanks to the staff and chefs!!!

27th December 2010 A great place! Good food, friendly hosts, comfortable atmosphere, reasonable prices, and where else can you get a carafe of great margaritas?

11th September 2010 I say try the Margarita too - awesome! The food is authentic and tasty and the menu is varied with lots to chose from. If you are a regular, you can join in a system where you get a free meal depending on how many times you go. They also have street parties, so join in on their mailing list to be in on the fun.

31st August 2010 Delicious Food, Fun casual atmosphere, Can't fault it!!!
I spent several weeks planning and hunting for the ideal birthday dinner for myself and my partner. This turned out to be the perfect choice! A real foodie and more often than not way too fusy,I have nothing but fantastic things to say about Sabroso. I enjoyed some mexican while my partner had a good old steak and both were cooked to perfection! Fresh food and amazing flavours. While your there make sure you try their signature margarita!!
Have since recommended to all my friends and have had fab feed back!
