Firstly, congratulations on your choice to become husband and wife.
My objective is for you to have the service that suits you, as your wedding is all about you, and your personal vows to each other.
We are required by law to observe some legal formalities which include the following:
You must marry at one of the places stated on the Marriage licence, and before the licence expires.
The Marriage must be solemnised in the presence of either a marriage Celebrant or a registrar of the courts.
The marriage must be performed in the presents of at least two witnesses.
Each party must say the words "I AB take you CD to be my legal wife/husband"- or words to that effect.
The full names of the bride and bridegroom "as they appear on the marriage licence- must be used at some point in the ceremony to clearly identify the bride and bridegroom. Abbreviations and nicknames may then be used in other parts of ceremony.
The couple, the celebrant and the two witnesses must all sign both copies of the Copy of Particulars of Marriage.
-The Wedding Vows-
Once upon a time a marriage celebrant would hand you a small selection of Vows to choose from in a folder, but now with use of the internet it is more practical for you as a couple to take your time going through various ideas for vows in the privacy of your own home and in your own time.
You can Google Vows that various celebrities have used, or vows that may just suit your personalities as a couple.
One example of such a site is www.myweddingvows.com.
When you have chosen your vows and obtained your wedding licence from Births Deaths and Marriages, then it is simply a case of us getting together to go over the final details.
My fee of $300 will normally be paid to me before the Particulars of Marriage is delivered by me to the Registrar of marriages
I look forward to being a part of your "big day"
