Escape from your daily busy life to this peaceful serene place, where you can enjoy nature and listen to native birds signing to you. My husband and I came to Bush Sand & Sea for our sixth wedding anniversary for one night, and we were gutted having to leave so soon because our kids were waiting for us in Auckland. When you meet Lyn and Alan (your hosts) you keep pinching yourself just to ensure that you are not dreaming, for these people are rare these days. They are an inspiration to any couple with all their hard work and perseverance over the years building their house and this beautiful nest as well as building and maintaining their bush track which is amazing! but most importantly being a one team throughout their joint life. We highly recommend this place... and not to forget that it is surrounded by amazing nature and a stunning beach. Thanks for your hospitality and for having us smile emoticon

We had an amazing visit in this unexplored part of NZ (to us). We hope work continues on the bush walk as we both think it is an amazing little bonus to staying here. It's very nice to see such a good balance between looking after the world we live in yet not sacrificing the comforts of modern living. We will not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for what it offers.

Fantastic place - a home away from home. The hosts were lovely - the right balance of assistance coupled with allowing a romantic, peaceful and exclusive break which is exactly what we were after. We loved the extra touches; breakfast goodies, fresh juice and bread along with the homely comforts of dressing gowns and encouraged use of slippers. The private track was beautiful. We definitely plan on coming back!

Thank you so much for a lovely relaxing stay a great escape from the city for a couple of days. Lots of special touches that we enjoyed, the spa pool with Tui (the dog) standing guard, the lovely breakfast supplies, good walking and great quality accommodation, thanks, A&K.

My wife and I recently returned from our third stay at Bush, Sand and Sea. We really love the place - it's such a tranquil spot to relax and unwind and we're always made to feel very welcome. The accommodation is modern and immaculately presented and the surroundings are breath taking. The amount of passion that Lyn and Alan have for maintaining the native bush and it's bird life is inspirational and it was fantastic to see the progress that they have made with the walking track on the property (which takes you through native bush down to a stream which is lined with glow worms at night). We can also recommend the many walks in the nearby area - we especially love the coastal walk from Bethells beach to Muriwai (part of the Hilary trail) - the views are spectacular. All in all, this place is a real gem!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay here - a perfect start to married life. We couldn't have wished for a nicer place to spend our honeymoon. Many thanks to our hosts for their hospitality and generosity - they were the perfect, providing provisions for a lovely breakfast but giving us plenty of space & privacy. We highly recommend this B&B for a quiet get-away.

In our travels in New Zealand, we have been consistently impressed by the kindness, friendliness and directness of the people we have met. Our hosts here seemed to sum it all up, and to add their own spice, too. The place they have built shows thoughtful consideration of the needs of their guests, but they add greatly to the enjoyment of the place with their knowledge and enthusiasm for the plants and animals, geology and scenery of the world they inhabit. Truly a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable experience. A refaire.
