26th March 2011 My husband and I heard Aorangi Peak was open in the mornings so we headed up there for brunch on our wedding anniversay, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food whilst simple was very nice and the view well it was amazing!!!!! We'll definitly be going back. Thanks
Aorangi Peak Restaurant is located high up in Rotorua, with excellent views of the town below and the surrounding mountains.
If the view alone doesn't make this a fine dining experience perfect for a romantic getaway, then the food will make sure it does. The a la carte Menu is of excellent quality, and they can even custom make a cake for your special occasion.
There is a cafe menu from 10 - 4pm, serving muffins, soups and drinks.
27th August 2012 We wanted somewhere nice for our wedding anniversary, but were extremely disappointed. For a restaurant that markets themselves at the premium end they fell well short on a number of fronts.
View was excellent
Restaurant itself was tidy, if a quite tired.
Although the staff were helpful and seemed to try hard the service was below average.
Entree : Soup for my wife (cold). Sushi for me (4 small pieces only 2 had any fish in them).
Main : Lamb rack and venison. The venison itself was excellent, the lamb less so, however the accompanying vegetables were few and far between and seemed a bit old.
Dessert : One average and one well below average, and both well overpriced.
Wont be back.

19th November 2011 Went for lunch, ordered the steak,had been marinated as if to go in a stir-fry, meal was cold room was cold, service not up to standard, very disappointing and a bad image for Rotorua. would not rate it at this level
