24th November 2010 the best Butter Chicken in Wellington and the wife doesn't accuse me of having been out for lunch when I get home. very good prices too, lunch time specials were $12 for a healthy sized meal including rice and naan. always a pleasure to visit.
24th July 2011 Great place. Great restaurant. Good service. I have been both to the city restaurant and to the restaurant in Johnsonville. Food is authentic Indian (I can tell as my husband is Indian and he agreed with me for once! :) )Staff are very friendly. Occasionally you find an Indian restaurant who treat Indian customers poorly and focus on European customers instead. I have been to Daawat many times and have observed the staff to be just as courteous to Indian customers as to Pakeha. Try the Lamb Madras! I loved it.
