27th April 2011 Beautiful view, friendly staff, great food.
Partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Bringing mum and dad with us next time!
Vue is Auckland's newest harbour view restaurant with breathtaking vistas overlooking Devonport and the Waitemata Harbour.
Beautifully appointed on the top floor of the Mercure hotel on Customs Street, Vue is an elegant oasis of floor to ceiling windows, lavish banquettes and stylish ambience.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner the restaurant offers exquisite modern European cuisine showcasing fine New Zealand produce and created by a kitchen team with an uncompromising dedication to quality.
23rd June 2013 We visited Vue restaurant tonight, Sunday and can honestly say the service is still very bad!!
There were seven of us...we waited 30 minutes at the table before being offered a drink and after deciding on The Ned Pinot Gris were told they had none....no other like sorry this is navailable but we can offer this one... Their was no beer menu on the table and the waitress had no idea of the beers available !!
We then asked for a bottle of Kopiko Bay and waitress came out with a bottle a quarter full !! She said I only asked for a glass and they bring the bottle out to the table to pour it...I said but what did you think the other two guests were drinking who had not ordered a different drink !!
Before we even ordered our drinks the waitress came to us and asked if we were ready to order our meals.. I said..but you haven't told us the specials or asked for our drink orders... She told us that she had not had time as she was busy !! But she wasn't too busy to ask for our meal order obviously !!
Our meals were very nice but luke warm and we got beans instead of broccolini as menu stated....maitre d told me that was because they do change it sometimes as guests who eat there for a few nights running get sick of the same greens each night !! Why couldn't they tell us that incase we didn't like beans !!
At the end of my meal the waitress came up and asked if we wanted another bottle of wine and I said no as was over it by then...but she didn't ask the two men if they wanted another beer and there glasses were empty...I still had half a glass of wine left !!
The view was great but the service after the last review I read feb 2012 , was still as bad !! It really felt like nobody cared !! Faulty towers maybe a better name and staff definitely need some training and communication skills ....a very bad advertisement for The Accor Advantage Club ..

27th March 2012 Five of us went to the Vue restaurant on the 19th Feb 2012. We were very dissapointed at the service and the quality of food.
We were initially told that we are allowed to bring our own wine and then when we arrived, we were told that we were not allowed. The waiter was really rude to us throughout the night. We had to wait for over an hour for the food to arrive, considering there were not many people there. The choice of food was very limited.
But i have to say the view was excellent. Though the menu was over priced, we dont mind paying for it as long as we get good customer service and good food. The waiter did not make us feel welcome. Will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

5th March 2012 Further to my critical review dated 20 February some members of our original party were happy to take up the offer of a voucher for a return meal and happily their experience 2nd time around was a much more pleasurable experience although it will be noted that their meal was a weekday lunch when the restaurant was relatively quiet so it's hard to know what the service would be like at a peak time. I suppose I should give credit to the restaurant for being so fast out of the starting blocks with their acceptance of my original list of defects with their service.

20th February 2012 We were part of a recent party of approx 12 ppl dining at Vue on a saturday evening. While waiting for our table we witnessed one diner complaining about the delay in the delivery of their meals. On being seated we found that there were insufficient menus and no drinks menu. A single drinks menu eventually arrived but the waitress managed to forget to ask two of the diners for their drinks orders but still managed to assure them that "their drinks were coming" even when she hadn't taken an order from them! We had to request water for the table....this should have arrived automatically. The drinks menu didn't include any listing for beer or non-alcoholic beverages...This is NZ for crying out loud! When asked for advice on how the duck should be best served the waitress invented something on the spot which didn't tally with what was later served. Two of the diners had duck..both cooked differently...and both of an unacceptable quality. The main courses, when they arrived, were good quality but skimpy in size. The waitress failed to ask any of the diners whether they wnated side with their mains so the meal sizes were hardly what you would call a "feed" and considering the prices charges were a microscopic! We were uniformly surprised to virtually have "time" called on us before we could order a dessert. Will we be back? - Not blinking likely! My suggestion: Make sure your staff are properly trained. PS - Re the 2.5% surcharge for paying by creditcard...Please don't bleat to us about how you are obliged to pass this on. Absorb it in your overheads or make your mains 2.5% smaller!

21st February 2012 Dear Guest,
I'm disappointed to hear of your poor dining experience in Vue Restaurant. We are currently rebuilding our team both in the Kitchen and front of house but this is no excuse and unacceptable.
We will be sharing your feed back with our entire team with a focus on fixing these issues.
Please email me directly on H1721-FB01@accor.com as I would like to send you a voucher to dine with us again and to show you that this is a one off and we do care about your business.
Kind Regards,
Sean Slattery
Food and Beverage Manager

30th September 2010 This is our favorite place when my husband and I go out on a date. The food and wine are excellent, the service is always good and the view, whether at lunch or dinner, is beautiful.
Beautiful view, friendly staff, great food.
