23rd April 2008 As an American tourist I came to NZ and bought an old van for transportation. My first stop was Ohau Automotive. Des Mead, the man in charge, fixed all the bits which needed fixing and gave me good advice on the bits which would last through my trip. I had estimated 5,000 km. I ended up traveling 13,000 km and the van never let me down. I sold it before returning to the states and the total cost of buying the van and the costs I paid to Ohau Automotive totaled $11 NZD per day. Without Ohau Automotive I might still be sitting on some remote track in beautiful NZ.
