Have recently discovered Toroa Radio,am now listening to you often,find the programming both refreshing and interesting,love the jazz,some of the other choices,different but still OK,am intriged as to where some of the selections come from,are they private collections?

Toroa Radio 1575 kHz AM is Otago's community access radio station, putting real people on air.

Toroa has been around since 1990 (in various guises) and can be heard pretty much anywhere throughout Otago. We're a not-for-profit organisation run by a charitable trust, and we employ three full-time staff. Anyone else (including the voices you hear) is there for the love of it, or because they have something to say.

Along with all this, Toroa plays great music! We play cool jazz, smoking blues, hot soul and the finest New Zealand music when there's no-one on air. And we never repeat ourselves! You'd be lucky to hear the same song twice in as many days, which makes a nice break (if we may say so) from the Top 40 on high-rotate...
