a friend from auckland invited me to have lunch. could only say the service was fast and friendly, the food beautifully presented, hot and filling. he said aucklanders would pay twice the price we paid.

I have been to this cafe twice - but NEVER again! The first time was a very cold winters evening. Inside the cafe was as cold as the outside, they didn't have the fire going or any heaters even though they had them in view. I asked for a steak that was medium rare, when I got it it was almost raw, it was still all jelly-like. I had to ask to get it cooked properly, even then it didn't taste like I should have been paying as much as I should have for it. The second time I went to this cafe was for lunch in spring so I thought it might be a bit different. However, I would have received better food and service from McDonald's. It seems the old lady has struck again. Horrible horrible service when it came time for me to pay. My eftpos card wouldn't swipe the first time she tried it so she immediately got rude and wouldn't accept it because the expiry date was 09/09 (this was on the 19/09/2008). It seems she thought the expiry date was day/month instead of month/year. When I tried to explain this to her she was rude, loud, snotty and patronizing to me in front of my workmates and other customers in the shop. Rest assured none of my workmates, friends or family will go there again.
