10th September 2012 A terrible experience and a waste of time or money. I've tried not to rave and rant to the best of my ability but one cannot help it when poor service here, seems to be the norm. This is also not based on one visit but a series of experiences.Picture the scenario, a lazy Sunday morning and you've a craving for a cooked breakfast. You then head down to the Lizard, and it doesn't look too busy; about tables worth of customers, and then the drama starts. You say that you want to order breakfast, and they politely tell you that you could have it, if you're willing to wait 30 min. You grudgingly give them the benefit of doubt and pray that the magazines are not 100 years old. Then nothing happens, you wait and wait, you play angry birds on your phone and finish most levels and still nothing happens. Then you watch about six families leave in disgust after being told that they could have breakfast, if they wait the mandatory 30 minutes. Then you finally give up the ghost and leave, earning them about $10.50 worth of breakfast not served. You don't get an explanation, just a curtsy from the girl at the Counter, who seems to have the personality of a salamander.Leaves a bitter taste in your mouth and a resolve never to go there again.This place seriously needs to up their game if they want to make a name and right now feels like a bruised lizard...........

20th October 2011 Great friendly atmosphere. Friendly staff with great service. Quick cheap and tasty meals, with something for everyone. Unfortunately is very small with not a lot of room to move around. would recommend to all.

11th March 2007 I've been a customer of this cafe for over 18 months and now feel qualified to give an objective review. I have always found the food excellent in both quality and value for money. The staff offer by far and above the best customer service to be found in Timaru. If something that I want is not on the menu they will usually go out of their way to accomodate. I wouldn't keep going there if I felt it wasn't the best family orientated cafe in town. I've been motivated to place this review after reading the one by emily jean. Hers has not been my experience, nor, I'm sure, will it be whilst the current owners remain.

22nd October 2006 the drinks were great, our meal took a long time to come as a big group of people came in a while after us and were eating about the same time. our food was cold, not fresh. not the best experience.
