30th November 2010 A great place for excellent fish and chips. Perfect spot next to the water. Always fresh plenty of seafood variety to choose and hot off the fryer! A definite not to miss venue when visiting Mangonui. Don't forget to have a beer too.

28th April 2013 This place is over rated and expensive .. spent $48 for F&C for 2 adults and 2 children and found the quality to be no better than our common garden chip shop around the corner at home but double the price... definitely a business that trades on its reputation - earned from another era.....try the pub across the road ....

6th November 2010 This fish & chip shop has their own fish quota and their own contract fishermen. That is the reason their fish is fresher and tastier than anyone else in New Zealand

31st August 2010 The Mangonui Fish Shop & Takeaway is known as world famous for its taste with good reason! This food just has to be tried, it really is *that* good. Their fish was easily the freshest and most delicious I've ever had. We ate there on our honeymoon holiday years ago and we STILL get cravings for their awesome food, such a shame we live so far away in Taupo :(
