21st August 2010 I really enjoyed floriditas both the food and the service were outstanding also the restrooms were clean. I would definately recommend floriditas to anyone who likes a good time and amazing food!
Nestled in the heart of Wellington's famous Cuba street, Floriditas is open all day every day. From snacks and coffee in between meals to a hearty breakfast to kick start the busy work day ahead, Floriditas serves all sorts of simple and delicious meals to keep you going.
29th November 2010 based on two lunch outings I think that Floriditas is great, a fantastic character building - but a relaxed feel to it, with a feeling of sophistication. I think they have focussed on their service (I didn't have any cause for complaint or concern, like some earlier reviews). Service professional and concise. The food is modern NZ type food, good quality, fresh and seasonal.
Generally simple, but well executed and balanced flavours. Overall, a smart and sophisticated offering on cuba street. Would recommend.

6th July 2010 Unfortunately for the other reviewer (jasonxr6), he/she never got to try the food. I do agree that this place gets full fast, especially for breakfast.
Food here is great. Breakfast is unique and not found anywhere else on Cuba street. They make their own bread and pastries, so that is always a highlight.
If you go here and can't find a free table, make sure to try their baked goodies on display.

30th May 2008 My wife and I came in for breakfast, I wish I could have reviewed the food but unfortunately I never actually got to eat any.
I have worked and dined at numerous restaurants around the world and this was possibly the worst service I have ever received. We were seated right in front of the waiters station and after 15mins had not been acknowledged in any way or even received a menu. The restaurant was less than 1/4 full so it was not exactly busy and the waiter definitely knew we were there but decided to ignore our table.
There are so many other great restaurants in Wellington this is definitely one I would not recommend any time soon. The sad thing is the food probably is very good but if the front of house staff cant deliver then they are letting the kitchen down badly.

10th February 2008 Had breakfast here before and it was a good experience, so I decided to try dinner there. Boy, was I in for a surprise. The dinner food was no where near as good as the breakfast food and the service was appalling. There were many times where the waitress' walked past without noticing that I wanted service. The lamb I had was over cooked and the risotto portion so very small. For $24 dollars, i except a good meal with good service. There are many places on Cuba Street to choose from, many of whom have good service.

7th February 2008 Even one star is too much for Floriditas!! Food is so lame, but not as bad as its services. I ordered pan fried snapper, which tasted all right except for it had too much oil. My boyfriend had char-grilled herbed lamb on a bed of lemon risotto. The herbs turned out to be a plate of coriander, and the risotto too lemony. The service was even more shocking! The manager insisted that there was nothing wrong with the dish, we would need to pay for three mains if we wanted the lamb to be remade. We got too pissed off to have anymore food there, so we decided to pay only my dish and the entree, the manager agreed with the resolution. When we went up to the counter, she still put the lamb bill on our table(!) and tried to convinced us to pay. Of course we didnt!! OMG, Chinese new year celebration was ruined by this pathetic restaurant.
