Came here especially for breakfast after careful selection and reading reviews. instantly loved the atmosphere. Arrive before the 12pm deadline and ordered eggs. Was told that the kitchen would not cook the eggs, even though we had ordered just before midday. Was very disappointed. The nice staff were also visibly upset for us. Clearly a case of false advertising and very bad form from the kitchen - how hard is it to poach an egg? Wont be going there again!

Ordered garlic mushrooms but I somehow failed to notice that they came with Chorizo sausage - would be fine except I am vegetarian! When it arrived, I realised my mistake and confessed. They asked me if I would like it made with something else instead and brought me another one made with Haloumi cheese - in a very good-tempered way, like we all make mistakes now and again, no big deal. It was very tasty, no additional charge for the inconvenience which was my fault. I will be a regular from now on!! Very refreshing to find such an accepting and accommodating attitude :)

I have been here a few times and Mezze Bar never fails to impress! Whether it be their delicious breakfast menu, the array of tapas choices, or the cakes that always seem to be just perfect, Mezze is a great place to eat. With its relaxed feel and cosy couches down the back, you can find yourself whiling away a few hours here. A great place to go with a group of friends or an intimate date, and everyone will find at least one thing that appeals from the tapas list - I myself have a hard time choosing as they are all so tasty! I often come here just for the cakes in their cabinet, I am particularly fond of the date cake. Warmed to perfection and great any time of the day!

Firstly I would just like to say yes I have been here recently but this is most certainly not my first time. I simply love the atmosphere, the food and surprisingly even the desserts (I am very picky about my dessert, the orange cake is just perfect though). So I come here with friends, alone, with readings to be done, for breakfast, for lunch, for dinner... whatever, always had a positive experience. Two things which I like to have at home with my meals and I can have here are the fresh mint tea and sangria which is always a plus. Its a place to relax, nicely set away from any disturbances with an cosy, european feel, but with a twist....just love it!

What a discovery! We wanted a night out somewhere different and stumbled across the Mezze Bar. Full of REAL people. The food is wonderful (TRY THE TIRAMASU) it's the best I have ever had. The service is always good and they have a wine list that suits my palate. Eggs Benedict were totally yum and they always try to accomodate your wishes. A really great place and we visit often

Delicious! A perfect place to plonk yourself for an after work drink or a pre-movie snack - the tapas are perfectly executed and make a great option when sharing with friends. The upstairs location makes it cosy and the wooden floors and homely decor make a nice change to the ever-popular minimalist approach in restaurants

Use to frequent this wonderful restaurant in my university days when it was on the corner of Queen St and Mayoral Drive. Still full of gorgeous people complemented by gorgeous staff and a wonderful selection of tapas. I will keep coming back now that I have re-discovered this gem.

This place is amazing! A nice quiet little get away - ideal for morning or afternoon coffee dates. Cool retro decor and food to die for!

Super tasty tapas. A little on the pricey side (sangria is not cheap here...or particularly good) but good food.

Great place to meet friends before or after the movies or for a Friday night drink - and plenty of others agree - pays to reserve a table on friday nights. Interesting menu with lots of tapas and more substantial meals if you're hungry. Wine list is smallish but fine and a really cozy atmosphere for those cold winter days.

A great bar tucked away in such a central location. I've only ever been in the evenings, but it's a great place to have a glass of wine and yummy dessert (they even do a dairy free orange cake which was delicious!). The tapas are pretty good too.

Mezze has to be one of my favourite bar/cafes in central Auckland. The food is FANTASTIC (I personally recommend the garlic mushroom/chorizo sausage - as long as you're not on a date!), the wine list is reasonable and despite its central location, it manages to have an intimate, cosy atmosphere.
