Earthmoving and general cartage contractor of Buckland, Craig Nicholson, now has over 30 years experience. Growing up he was interested in trucks and machinery and in his teenage years he spent a lot of time helping/learning in an uncle's contracting business.

Craig bought his first digger at age 19, an old 16 tonne Massey Ferguson, in 1985 and went to work for himself, starting out by cleaning drains, doing general farm work and working on house sites.

At present, Craig has 3 full-time employee, 1 casual employees and his wife Marion takes care of all the administration duties.

We do house/building sites and driveways, roading and dams, horse arenas and tree removal, demolition and drainage, stop-banks and hole boring, and anything that requires earth to be moved or metal carted, says Craig.

We have worked on several local projects, one of the more recent being the preparation of the site for the new Pukekohe Mega Centre.

Nicholson Contractors have two 20 tonne diggers, one being a ~ zero swing which is nice and compact to fit into small spaces; one 22.5 tonne digger; one 4.5 tonne digger, one 20 tonne bulldozer and scoop, rollers and graders, three tip trucks and trailers, and a machinery transporter.
