Went with my wife, her brother and Dad who were on holiday from Mexico - they'd never experienced Indian food before and absolutely loved it! They wanted to keep coming back during their holiday here. The food is divine! Me and my wife always love the food as we've gone here many times before, but for her family it was the first time. We all had different dishes and shared them around. The waiter was very friendly and helpful to explain the dishes to the new converts of Indian food! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food!

We were put into the shop that operates as a Coffee Lounge during the daytime. Very dated decor and rather shabby - perhaps a little grubby even but hard to tell in the available light. The staff were polite and quite helpful but it seemed like they had to press a million buttons on their little screen thing before they could sell me a beer. The waitress spilled sauce all over the table cloth between me and my partner and also our utensils and then used my napkin to wipe it up. My partner ended up having to ask for replacement paper napkins. They brought us one each. The waiter followed this up by spilling food all over our replacement napkins so we gave up. Food was average - not very tasty. Very little meat. Lots of rice and Naan bread. Seemed there were plenty of cheap ingredients like the bread and rice but very little of anything more expensive. Portions were small and with two people at out table taking reasonable sized portions, some of us missed out. We had the $35 banquet so I guess that's about what you'd expect. The food was also nearly cold. Glad I tried it. Not in a hurry to go back again. There are some wonderful restaurants in Merivale which can do a lot better.

Great food! And very helpful staff. I couldn't decide what to eat off the menu so the waiter asked me what i liked and had them custom make something. Brilliant!
